Learn the Horse — Not Just the Ride
Lessons at Frontier Farm are designed to build confidence, clarity and partnership — whether you are completely new to horses, learning to ride or drive, developing more advanced skills, or looking to deepen your understanding of your own horse.
We believe good riders and drivers should also become good horse people.
Our program combines riding, driving, horse care, groundwork and practical education so students understand not only what to do, but why they are doing it.
Instruction is available for children and adults, from complete beginners through developing riders and drivers.
Students can explore many paths:

No horse ownership or previous experience is required.
More Than Just Time in the Saddle
Horsemanship begins long before a rider puts a foot in the stirrup.
Students learn the skills surrounding the ride or drive — horse handling, grooming, tack, safety, groundwork, care and an understanding of how horses think and learn.
Ground driving is also an important part of the Frontier Farm program. It can help riders, drivers and handlers develop timing, feel, responsiveness, balance and clearer communication with the horse from the ground.
Our approach is steady, encouraging and individualized. Progress is built through consistency, patience and thoughtful instruction, with safety and confidence at the center of every lesson.
Whether your goal is to compete, learn to jump, explore carriage driving, work through a challenge, gain confidence to enjoy a trail ride or simply become a more capable and knowledgeable horseperson, we'll help you build the foundation first.

Private Lessons
One-on-one riding, driving and horsemanship instruction tailored to the individual student.
Private Lessons — $65

Semi-Private & Group Lessons
Learn alongside other students while keeping instruction focused, structured and affordable.
Semi-Private — $55 per person
2–3 riders or drivers
Group Lessons — $45 per person
Minimum 4 students
Students complete the 'First Lesson & Horsemanship Assessment' before joining semi-private or group instruction

Pony Introduction – Young Rider
A shorter, age-appropriate introduction for younger children beginning their horse experience.
Sessions may include grooming, leading, horse safety, pony handling and introductory mounted activities.
Approximately 30 minutes — $35 per student

The Horse Habit Horsemanship Series
Horsemanship Doesn't Always Require a Saddle
Our monthly hands-on educational series explores the whole horse — from feed, feet and grooming to tack, first aid, clipping, winter care, practical barn skills and so much more!
Students do not need to take regular riding lessons at Frontier Farm to participate.
Monthly classes — $15 per student

Clinics, Camps, Shows & Special Programs
Online Horse Shows & Show Coaching
Frontier Farm participates as a satellite location for select online horse shows. Students can receive help preparing for classes, coaching during their rides, and assistance completing and submitting entries correctly.
This offers a very fun, low-pressure horse show experience without adding the stress of also hauling off the farm!

New to Frontier Farm?
Start with our First Lesson & Horsemanship Assessment.
We'll learn about your previous experience, confidence, interests and goals and begin developing the path forward.
We are enthusiastic about teaching riders and drivers of all ages. We do not have a strict minimum age; however, for mounted activities, children need to be physically able to balance and safely hold themselves in the saddle. For most children, this begins around ages 3–4, although readiness is determined individually and participation is subject to Frontier Farm approval.
Children, adults and complete beginners are welcome.
