Horsemanship Program
Learn with Purpose. Grow with Confidence. Love the Journey.
At Frontier Farm, our horsemanship program is designed to give riders more than just time in the saddle — it offers a structured, thoughtful path for developing true knowledge, skill, and confidence around horses.
This program blends hands-on learning with progressive skill development, guiding students through clearly defined levels as they grow in both ability and understanding.
A Program with Purpose
Our curriculum is inspired by the proven foundations of the United States Pony Club D-level standards and incorporates elements of the Scouting America Horsemanship Badge program.
Students will build a well-rounded skillset that includes:
-
Horse handling and safety
-
Grooming and daily care
-
Tack knowledge and equipment use
-
Groundwork and communication
-
Introductory riding and/or driving skills
-
Horse health basics and stable management
Each level is designed to build confidence step-by-step, creating capable, knowledgeable horsemen and horsewomen — both on the ground and in the arena.
The “Mini Series” Learning Approach
Our program is offered in a series-based format — a guided, small-group experience where students move through material together in a supportive and engaging environment.
Each series includes:
-
Weekly structured sessions
-
Hands-on learning with our horses and ponies
-
Clear learning objectives and skill milestones
-
A positive, encouraging teaching style
This format allows students to fully absorb each concept while building friendships and confidence along the way.
Levels, Testing & Recognition
As students progress, they will have the opportunity to:
-
Complete level-based evaluations
-
Earn Frontier Farm certificates of achievement
-
Work toward horsemanship badge-style recognition
-
Build a strong foundation for future riding or driving pursuits
Our goal is not just participation — it’s true understanding and accomplishment.
